(I did very well in reading ;) ) They had some useful tips, and it doesn't take long to complete. I used this along with a class so I'm not sure what to attribute my reading score too.
That way you will understand how the real ACT reading test works. If you are having trouble finishing the ACT reading test, the general reading advice in this book should help you improve your reading speed and comprehension. Disclosure: I am the author of Dissecting the ACT: A Unique Student Perspective on the ACT or ACT Test Prep with Real ACT questions . Once you understand how the test works you can get a very high score on the reading if you can finish the test. However, the practice passages in this book are not like the real thing. Use this book only to improve your speed and comprehension and practice on real tests instead of the tests in this book.
It gives lots of great tips on reading better for speed and knowledge. I can recommend this book to all who are trying to up their points on the ACT. My daughter loved it.

This book raised my reading score significantly, and its no longer the lowest (blast that Math). I chose this book because it seemed like an easy and effective tool that was exactly what I was looking for. Buy it if you struggled on the ACT reading, it provides advise and test-taking strategies. So after taking my first ACT, I was surprised to find my reading sub-score to be the lowest. After a momentary loss of sanity I decided it would be best for me just to get help rather than belly-ache.
